Psychoanalysis is... cultivating a tree so that it fulfills to perfection its own natural conditions of growth.

Get to the root of the issue
I love trees. I love to walk among them.
The tree is a highly symbolic being and signals the value of the Analytical process. The tree has three parts in terms of symbolism – roots, trunk and branches. Its roots lie deep in the ground from where it receives nutrients and anchors in a solid base. A sense of belonging - of rootedness - that nourishes and grounds us is something many people strive to achieve. The branches draw in energy from the air and the sun, and, unfortunately, draw in pollutants as well. This is symbolic of all in our environment that affects us, positive and negative, and contributes to our sense of self and of soul. The solidity and strength of the trunk and its part in holding the tree together is symbolic of our need for inner strength. To become healthy and fruitful trees, pruning is a vital process trees must undergo.
As a Jungian Analyst, I work with clients from diverse life situations and professions, helping them identify that which nourishes their sense of self and soul, encouraging them to explore that which needs to be pruned, and fostering a deep rootedness in their own unconscious psyche. Individuals that undergo a Jungian analysis achieve individuation - the process of integrating the conscious with the unconscious - for the purpose of self-actualization.
I received a Post-Graduate Diploma in analytical psychology (equivalent to a Ph.D.) from the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts (OAJA). I am currently President of OAJA and of its sister organization, The C.G. Jung Foundation of Ontario. I am on the faculty of the OAJA Analyst Training Programme.
If you are interested in entering into a Jungian analytical process of psychotherapy to get to the root causes of your life issues and want to understand how the analytic process works, please contact me at [email protected] or by calling me at 416-937-9459.
